It means that just like everother nice person out there they are taken advantage of and used as a door mat.

the point was that social workers are so busy they have no life (isn't it?)

(also, things can be funny and wrong at the same time)

that is not funny it is wrong.. social workers do a lot for people they should not be made fun of for it either
