its a play on the liars paradox: Is the statement "This statement is false" true or false?
If it is true then it becomes false, and if its false then it becomes true. As for the joke, its just playing on the interdependency of the truth values of the two statements kind of like the liars paradox.

Well, it's only funny to those who get it... well, I'm not sure, but I sorta get the joke.... but it's not funny anymore to me.

Maybe it's because I didn't exactly get it right, but this one doesn't seem funny to me in many ways.
