How many software engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
1) None. real computer geeks prefer LEDs. 2) None. It's a hardware problem! 3) Just one. But the house falls down. 4) Two. One resigns halfway through the project. 5) 10. One to change the bulb and one to explain binary. 6) Is this a dynamically allocated light bulb?
Bored at Work obviously left his/her sense of humor at home.
1. Plenty of software engineers on embedded systems are used to breadboarding and living off LEDs. Plus, the joke might be showing its age, but ever program for a MSX? 2. Hardware ops claim issue with display driver. Refer to software for support. 3. Heisenbugs abound. It's not so rare to find IT shops that believe that sanity checking is sufficient and never perform regression or destructive tests. 4. Happens all the time. Problems with management. Reference Brooks's Law for antithesis. 5. Dur. 6. Bulb cannot be removed. Bulb threads deadlocked in poorly implemented spinlock with socket. Please shut down power at the mains before disassembling wall socket to continue.

Ok lets do this from a Software Engineers perspective. Yes we do like LEDs but they do not match the power of a lightbulb and if we wanted to do LEDs I would have to get my Electrical Engineering body, Busy at School, to help. 2 is a logical answer. 3 WHAT? Thats rediculus they make one fix and the system crashes... give me a break. 4... resigning thats stupid. 5 is cool, its funny if you know binary. 6 is good if you know programing.

Oh btw I am a Software Engineering Intern
nt funny!!
i agree that was dumb
thats just plain dumb
